In times of considerable uncertainty, business leaders have a responsibility to seek out and establish clarity. Clarity builds hope, trust, comradery, and a mutual sense of direction and accountability.

As a business owner, I recognize that my team and I are fortunate. We were able to move from working in an office environment to working remotely with no service interruptions. Others I know are not so fortunate; their businesses have either slowed or closed their doors.

We are facing a looming recession as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. I stand just as concerned as any other business owner. World-wide government and self-imposed safety limitations and fear of recession have led to lost revenue across all industries. As bleak as this may sound, this isn't the first time companies were tested with such an event. While the socio-economic impact was not as severe, the Polio epidemic of 1937 had much the same effect on business. We will get through this much the same way companies did then. History has shown that when there is a sharp decline in the economy, there is usually an equally sharp recovery.
